Review in Progress – Part One Review in Progress – Part One

MMORPG.com is committed to giving our readers the best and most informative reviews of today’s hottest MMOs. With that in mind, we’re taking a new tack with TERA and giving it a multiple week timetable for review. In today’s installment, we take our first baby steps into TERA and give you our thoughts about the game. Read on!We have more than 5 years of experience and can easily pass that on to our customers. We provide the cheapest tera  gold all the servers and the first class service to our loyal and reliable customers. We have available stock of  tera gold on most of the servers, so that we can do a really instant way of delivery. We understand what our buyers need so we offer an instant way of delivery

Now, let me tell you something: I didn’t find myself overly fond of TERA in its earlier beta tests. I enjoyed the combat, but found myself tired of the questing early on. But after this past weekend’s Open Beta? Well, I’m level 21, I’ve run Bastion of Lok several times with random groups and guild mates, can tank like a pro, and I’ve spent all my money leveling Alchemy to make helpful potions for solo-Bill. I’d say I’m finding myself quite attached to my Amani Lancer, and it just goes to show you what the right class and keeping an open mind with a new MMO can do.

Virtual Goods Sales and ChinaJoy 2010Virtual Goods Sales and ChinaJoy 2010

MMORPG.com’s Richard Aihoshi has had his ear to the ground in the world of F2P not just here in NA, but around the world. Today, he discusses some of the numbers that have come to light as well as the upcoming ChinaJoy game show.

US lagging behind UK in virtual goods uptake

A few days ago, I saw some rather interesting information on virtual goods sales in the United Kingdom last year. According to a report of apparently unknown origin that was published by Asian News International, the market size in 2009 topped 500 million pounds, which is around $800 million US. What’s especially intriguing is that the US, with roughly five times the population, totaled only about $1 billion.

On a per capita basis, this means the average UK resident spent about four times as much on virtual goods as his or her American counterpart. What’s missing in terms of a more complete picture is data as to what proportion of the respective populations bought anything at all. I’d also be very curious to know how they stack up beside purchasers in China and Korea. Unfortunately, I’ve yet to find data that would enable making such comparisons with a decent level of confidence.

Public City Siege Testing Begins Tomorrow!Public City Siege Testing Begins Tomorrow!

The initial test will see players invade the Imperial capital of Altdorf.

A Q&A with Mythic’s development team including Nate Levy, Carrie Gouskos and others will follow tomorrow’s test on the official Mythic Ventrilo server. The Q&A will be hosted by Mythic’s Andy Belford.

On Thursday, May 13th at 8PM PDT players will gear up for invasion once again, only this time the streetts will run white with mice as players storm the Inevitable City.

Virtue and TraditionVirtue and Tradition

In a new developer post on the Dark Age of Camelot site, Kai Schroeber takes a walk down memory lane and reminds players of their early in-game experiences.

Schroeber spends a bit of time waxing nostalgic for low-level areas such as Prydwen Keep, Gna Faste, Lough Derg, Albion, Midgard and Hibernia. The team has been working diligently to make the “new user” experience richer and more satisfying for players.

Accompanying this return to the lore and traditions of the realms are some compelling new quests which I’d like to talk about. These new adventures in moral deliberation will force you to make difficult decisions in the face of extraordinary circumstances. This will make for diverse game-play experiences as well as provide unique item rewards. Choosing these adventures will compel you into finding a compromise between difficult moral choices such as thievery and honesty, vengeance and justice, greed and honor, as well as mercy and sacrifice.

Atlantis Expansion Goes LiveAtlantis Expansion Goes Live

Frogster has announced that the latest content expansion for its seafaring MMO, Bounty Bay Online, has gone live. Called ‘Atlantis’, the new content gives high-level players new features including two new regions with multi-level instances and adjustable difficulty settings. Players can expect new armor sets with new bonuses, an achievement system for explorers, an increased level cap, a crafting system, and more.

On the previously undiscovered tropical Bimini Islands players will find a hidden entrance to the legendary underwater city of Atlantis. Dangerous sea monsters and indigenous tribes lurk in the various areas of this sunken metropolis waiting to pick off unsuspecting explorers. The King’s Tomb instance is also a perfect way for players to prove their talents. This two-level instance offers a range of new challenges available in two different difficulty settings. The second region, the icy Northern Islands, stand in stark contrast to the warm and verdant landscapes of the Bimini Islands. This snowy landscape is teeming with gigantic yetis, aggressive werewolves and bloodthirsty vampire for players to overcome. The barren tundra of these islands also conceals another double-level group instance playable in three difficulty settings.
